About
Áine Florence Crowley – from Bantry, West Cork, Ireland – is the youngest of eight. Growing up in the bustling vibrant seaside farmhouse B&B “Dromcloc House”, Áine was never short of tourists to chat with, trees to climb and breathtaking nature to exhale through her poetry. She inherited her mother’s resourcefulness and productive energy
and her father’s story-telling wit and quirky view of life. Soaking up the strong creative influences from both sides of the Crowley and O’Mahony families, Áine harnessed the dynamic foundation of her unique talent in art.
Working as a primary school teacher Áine’s ethos is “learn by doing”. She encourages her students to “enjoy the process, not the product”, a trick that constantly reminds her to focus on the fulfillment of engaging in art which consequently has resulted in polished, finished and much sought after paintings.
Áine Florence Crowley uses her paintbrush as a lens to scrutinize her internal struggles, thoughts and deep fragile beauty, leading the viewer on a journey of contradictory delight – fear and love through a form of self-therapy. Her contrast of darkness and play bounces from the canvas in a contemplative yet forgiving satisfaction. Currently ensconced in her studio nestled between the Beara Mountains and Bantry Bay, and working mainly with acrylics, Áine Florence Crowley’s collections take you from the vibrant and soft to a more structured representation of modern abstract style.
